Anna & Jacob have truly been a dream to work with from the very beginning. I had the opportunity to shoot their engagement photos earlier this fall, and then Anna’s bridal photos. I love getting to work with my couples outside of the wedding day! We get to know each other better, and we feel like old friends by the time the wedding day rolls around so that the big day can be relaxed and stress free. Or at least we hope so! On this particular fall day, Anna happened to wake up feeling sick. Yep. On her wedding day. Thankfully, her friends came prepared to help out! The bridesmaids were chugging Pedialyte all morning, my lovely assistant Sara got Anna some peppermint tea, and other friends got her soup, gatorade, and everything else she needed to help her relax and feel better. You wouldn’t know from our photo session what a crazy morning she had! She’s such a trooper! 

I loved the southern charm and all of the little details of this wedding that made it so special. Anna’s parents are as classy as can be, and Jacob’s parents are SO fun. The whole day was a family affair! Four of the five groomsmen were related to the bride or groom, Anna’s grandmother played the piano and sang during the ceremony, her brother made the delicious BBQ, a friend made the exquisite cupcakes, and everyone was lending a helping hand wherever they could. And get this! The matron of honor grew up with Anna, and she is married to the best man, who grew up with Jacob! That’s right. The matron of honor & best man each knew Anna & Jacob separately and were best friends with them before they even got together. As the best man said, this stuff doesn’t happen in real life! Well, it did for Anna & Jacob, and they are as happy as can be. Thank you for letting me be a part of your special day! I loved every minute of it! 

I also need to say a HUUUUGE word of thanks to my incredible second shooter, Sara Touchet. She helps me out so much during wedding days by fetching things (like peppermint tea for the bride!), holding things, fixing things, and taking great photos. Much of her work is included below. I always feel like she is an extension of myself when I work with her. She captures moments that she knows I’ll want, and she works hard to make her work better and better. I always trust that when I leave her with a task, she’ll go above and beyond what I ask. Whenever she second shoots for me, she works just as hard as she would if she were the main shooter for one of her clients. Thank you Sara!!
