I had the awesome opportunity to photograph this fabulous reception in Downtown Greenville for my former cello teacher, Laura, and her new hubs, JT. Laura is half of the cello and guitar duo, WireWood. If you've been to a lot of weddings in Greenville, I'm sure you've heard them! This time it was Laura's turn to celebrate, and celebrate she did! The food was incredible, the florals were superb, the music was stellar, and the party was epic!
Since Laura plays for so many weddings, I'm sure she knows that nothing is more awkward than a dance floor with only 5-10 people dancing while everyone else sits around! She made sure that didn't happen! She dragged all of her friends and family onto the dance floor, sometimes against their will, all with a huge smile on her face. It made for some of the most fun dancing I've ever seen at a reception! I loved how she made sure all of her friends felt welcome and involved!
I'm in love with this shoot from the SC Botanical Garden and the Walker Golf Course Dock! Alexandra and Chase have such a sweet love story. They've been friends for years and years and started writing letters to each other before they were even dating. The best part of our shoot was that they brought some of those letters along and posed with them in front of the lake. It was the sweetest! I have to admit, I even shed a tear because Chase's letters to Alexandra are so sweet! Enjoy these photos from their engagement session!
Kaleigh & Ryan's Wedding on Saturday was absolutely stunning! Greene Acres is a magical event space in Honea Path, SC. It's becoming one of my favorites! I loved how Kaleigh & Ryan's families all seemed to be having such a BLAST celebrating their big day. They even went out of their way to make a space just for the all the kids that would be at the reception. Candy, Goldfish, and coloring sheets!
I loved interacting with Kaleigh and her bridesmaids. They were so fun! Check out the girls flowers: STUNNING. And Kaleigh's dress? It was custom made for her in Bulgaria. She found it on Pinterest and said, "I want that one!" Talk about every girl's dream!
When Emily texted me the day before the wedding and let me know that Matt's brother, Josh, unexpectedly passed away at 25-years-old, I was crushed for them. They are the sweetest couple you will ever meet, and they were so excited for their wedding day. It doesn't seem fair to have such a tragedy happen to them. Sometimes God sends trials that don't make any sense at all. They were left with a decision to make. Should they continue with the wedding as planned? Emily said it herself, "How do you walk forward with this?" To make such a huge choice in the midst of an awful tragedy must have been daunting.
Brian & Jocie are the absolute sweetest people I've ever met! I had such a fabulous time photographing their wedding. Nestled in the rolling hills of Bath, NY, Jocie was married at her home church with her precious father serving as the officiant. Brian's father is also a pastor, so he was able to have a part in the ceremony as well. The whole day was a beautiful picture of love and happiness! One of my favorite touches about the wedding were the girl's bouquets! They were paper flowers, made to mimic the paper flowers Brian gave to Jocie when he asked her to be his girlfriend. Now here they are experiencing their happily ever after! I was so honored to be a part of the wonderful day!
I just love these two. They were so laid back the entire day, and their style is oh so romantic. Olivia could not keep a smile off of her face all day!! She and Luke are some of the most genuine people you will ever meet; they truly made their guests feel welcome. Olivia is from Australia, and Luke is from the States, and they met in college on a mission team to Antigua. How cool is that?! God's providence is amazing. Olivia's family came all the way from Australia to Greer, SC to celebrate with them!
Wow! It's been a while since I've posted an engagement session on the blog! Life has been a little hectic, so my blogging hasn't been as active in posting my e-sessions. That ends today! Check out this beautiful morning engagement session I had with Kristin and Mike at Furman back in March. The weather was perfect, and I am totally digging the morning light we got to take advantage of! Kristin & Mike were fun to work with and I enjoyed getting to know them, especially Mike's sense of humor. He was cracking jokes all day. I loved it! I can't wait for their wedding in September!
Ryan and Lyndsey chose to tie the knot on the brand new rooftop garden at The Upper Room in Greenville, SC. Since I got to hang out with them during their engagement session, I was super pumped when their wedding day came along. Lyndsey is a teacher, and she is one of the sweetest people you will ever meet! She is warm and inviting, so bubbly, and her smile lights up the room! She had to be one of the most relaxed brides I've ever seen, and she was so beautiful!
I've known Melissa since I was 6 years old. We've been through many birthday parties, sleepovers, game nights, and camping trips. As adults, we get together every so often with our friends over coffee and lunch. In high school and through adulthood, it's always been Jacob. It was only ever Jacob. As the officiant of their wedding said, watching Melissa and Jacob together is like watching an old married couple. They are the cutest! This was absolutely one of my favorite weddings that I've ever been a part of because they are such a dear couple. Their bridal party photos were also just so fun because they were definitely one of the happiest couples I've ever photographed too! Their joy was genuine and their laughter was sweet.
Kara & Travis had a small wedding earlier this year and spent their honeymoon in Hawaii. They decided to throw a big party this weekend to celebrate! It was so much fun! Kara put on her wedding dress again, she and Travis had their closest friends in their party, and they celebrated like it was their wedding day all over again! I loved hanging out with the girls in the morning. They were so chill and had a lot of fun just being together! Since there wasn't the added nerves of a wedding ceremony, everyone was super relaxed and had an absolute blast! I loved seeing Kara and Travis together. Travis is such a sweetheart and treats Kara like a princess. He absolutely adores Kara!! She was beaming all day long! I wish them the best!
I had the absolute best time this past Saturday at Natasha & AJ's sweet wedding at Clemson Presbyterian Church. Throughout the day, Natasha was giddy with excitement that she was about to marry the love of her life. I'd never met AJ before, so I saw them together for the first time during the ceremony. Natasha was completely herself when she was with him! They were so comfortable together that I only had to give simple instructions here and there during their portrait session because they were so great at just being together! I just loved being a part of their joy-filled day!
Emily & Logan were married this past weekend at the beautiful Ocean Course on Kiawah Island. Even though the weather was cold and windy, Emily & Logan couldn't have been happier. Emily's smile lights up every room she enters, and the love she and Logan share is contagious! I am obsessed with the bridesmaids dresses and their elegant purple scarves. I gotta hand it to those ladies for braving 34 degree weather for the few minutes we were outside!! I loved working with this bridal party because they were all so much fun! There were so many sweet details throughout the day that were so Emily & Logan. For example, the girls flowers were all modeled after the first flowers that Logan ever got emily. How sweet!! And can we talk about how fabulous that food looks?! The catering was done by the Kiawah Island Resort, and it was absolutely stunning. I snuck a couple bites of cake, and oh. my. word. I died and went to heaven. Major props to the chef! The best part of the day had to be the stunning sunset that we experienced moments after the ceremony. If we had been two minutes later, we would have missed the whole thing! They were so overjoyed to be married and to be in one of their favorite places on earth. I am so happy for Emily & Logan! I hope you enjoy looking at the photos as much as I enjoyed capturing them.
It's not too often that I get to photograph a senior!!! Most of my time is spent doing weddings and engagements, so I love when I'm able to branch out and photograph seniors too! I've known Beka pretty much her whole life! Her family attends my church, and I've gotten to see her grow from a sweet little girl to a beautiful young woman. It was such an honor to be able to do these photos for her!
Beka grew up in Greer and attended Greer High School, so Downtown Greer was the perfect backdrop for our session. We explored some of my favorite spots and her favorite spots for this super fun shoot! I hope you enjoy the photos! Best wishes to Beka as she makes big college decisions this coming year!
Sassafras mountain is quickly becoming one of my favorite places to shoot! I am in love with these photos from Emily & Matt's engagement session. They were so much fun to photograph, seriously! They were super laid back and easy to work with, and just look at how excited they are to be getting married! I can't wait for their wedding this summer!
I loved the southern charm and all of the little details of this wedding that made it so special. Anna's parents are as classy as can be, and Jacob's parents are SO fun. The whole day was a family affair! Four of the five groomsmen were related to the bride or groom, Anna's grandmother played the piano and sang during the ceremony, her brother made the delicious BBQ, a friend made the exquisite cupcakes, and everyone was lending a helping hand wherever they could. And get this! The matron of honor grew up with Anna, and she is married to the best man, who grew up with Jacob! That's right. The matron of honor & best man each knew Anna & Jacob separately and were best friends with them before they even got together. As the best man said, this stuff doesn't happen in real life! Well, it did for Anna & Jacob, and they are as happy as can be. Thank you for letting me be a part of your special day! I loved every minute of it!
Wow. Where do I even start with this couple and this wedding? Too much awesome happened in one day! I'll start by talking about what a cool couple Rachel & Brandon are. They love the outdoors, they love adventure, and they love life. I loved seeing them be happy together and enjoy life with their friends and family! A lot of Rachel's friends that she met when she worked at some national parks came down from all over to see their friend get hitched. It truly was a special day full of community and joy! Rachel & Brandon's first look was one of the sweetest I've ever seen.
Anna & Jacob's classy engagement session was an absolute blast. We started the evening at the gorgeous SC Botanical Gardens in Clemson and explored the different settings that the gardens have to offer. We could have spent hours here! After that, we traveled a few minutes away to the Walker Golf Course Dock and caught the most gorgeous sunset! There aren't many things I love more than water and a good sunset. We continued to shoot into the post-sunset twilight which made for some beautifully creamy images. If I'm being honest, I have to admit this was my favorite engagement session to date, and I'm extra proud of these images. Anna & Jacob were so easy to work with, and they chose such gorgeous locations for their session! I hope you have as much fun viewing them as I did taking them! I can't wait until Nov. 19!
Jenna & Cameron are getting married in just a couple of months, so we headed over to Furman University for the engagement session this weekend. I had such a good time with the two of them! I love the way that they look at each other. My favorite part about being a photographer is that I get to see so many people being happy and in love. I love love. :) We were lucky enough to catch the roses while they were still in bloom and had some fun in the garden. Enjoy these images from their romantic session!
I had the pleasure of meeting Sam & Susie this year at Susie's sister Becky's wedding! Later that week, I found out that Sam worked at a pool where I give swim lessons regularly in the summer. Small world! I had such a great time with Susie's family at the wedding, so I was over the moon when she contacted me asking that I would photograph her wedding as well! We decided on Sassafras Mountain, the tallest peak in SC, as the backdrop for their e-session. Sam & Susie are SO. STINKIN. CUTE. Just look at their smiles!! We had so much fun laughing and having a good time. We also got to witness a stunning sunset on the mountain, and it was a perfect evening. Enjoy the photos! Susie & Sam, thanks for being so fun!
I had the wonderful privilege of getting to know Meagan and Jeremy earlier this year during their engagement session, and I also got to spend some more time with Meagan during her bridal session. They are such a sweet couple! They chose the most perfect venue for their wedding. Green Acres Events is nestled in the woods of Honea Path, SC and provided a charming background for their lovely day. The weather was absolutely gorgeous and the sun was hitting the trees in just the right spot during their ceremony, making these some of my most favorite ceremony shots ever! Also, check out the girls' bouquets! The stunning florals were done by Meagan's uncle, based out of Charlotte, NC. They were perfect for Meagan and her lovely ladies. Meagan and Jeremy are truly meant to be! I just loved seeing them interact with each other. Meagan and Jeremy, I hope you're having a blast on your honeymoon, and I wish you a lifetime of happiness! Thanks for letting me be there on your special day.
I wish every bride would request a bridal shoot with mountain views! I am so happy that we were blessed with fantastic weather for Meagan's bridal shoot last month. We had a blast trekking through fields and on top of mountains. Kudos to Meagan for enduring the crazy grasshoppers that were in this field! I think the photos were worth it. :) I'm super stoked to share her and Jeremy's wedding photos with you soon, but for now here is her mountaintop bridal session!
Hudson and Erica are married. Hudson and Erica. ARE. MARRIED. These two lovebirds simply could not contain their excitement for their wedding day, and boy was their joy infectious! The thing I love the most about seeing two young people in love is the genuine happiness, innocence, energy, and euphoria that radiates from them. Hudson & Erica are in love, and it. shows. The way they look at each other is all the proof you need to know they are meant for each other. Everyone sees it. Everyone feels it. Everyone celebrates it. Hudson & Erica were excited, nervous, happy, passionate, and now they're married! I truly had a blast being a part of their wedding day. Everything was beautiful right from the beginning. The florals from Culpepper Designs were absolutely perfect, and the charming Southern Bleachery in Taylors could not have been a better fit for this amazing couple. And how about that dessert table?! Yummy, yummy, yummy! Buttercream Bakehouse knocked it out of the park yet again with this one. Hudson & Erica, congratulations. Thank you for sharing your happiness with me. Thanks for spreading your joy to everyone you meet. Here's to a lifetime of adventure!
Anna & Jared tied the knot at the romantic Gassaway Mansion in Greenville, SC this weekend. I just love this couple! Their love is obvious to anyone that sees them together, and the way they look at each other is SO sweet. I had the opportunity to work with them back in January for their engagement photos, and I could tell on Saturday that their love had grown even stronger. It was such a beautiful day! The weather was perfect, and flowers were in bloom; the sunlight was gorgeous, and Anna looked like a princess. Her bridesmaids seriously could not stop telling her all day how perfect she looked! The Gassaway Mansion was the most wonderful setting for Anna & Jared's classy evening. I am so excited to share these images with you of their special day! Congratulations Anna & Jared!
Becky & Patrick were married on Memorial Day, and their wedding was nothing short of perfect! Everything about the day ran so smoothly and according to schedule. If you know anything about weddings, that says a lot! I loved the bright sanctuary at the church and all of the little touches that made the day unique to them as a couple. Isteated of a cake, they had gelato from Luna Rosa. For the guest book, they had a stack of postcards from different places. People could pick one out from a place they've been and write them a note! Becky & Patrick are both adventure-seekers. In fact, they are spending their honeymoon in Yosemite! Yeah, I'm jealous too. I also just love how obviously in love they are with each other. Just look at how Patrick looks at Becky and you'll know he's absolutely head over heels. He could not stop admiring her dress the whole day either! Oh, and the food at the reception was TO DIE FOR. Chicken, hummus, shrimp cocktail, stuffed mushrooms, and THE BEST grilled vegetables. Check out Uptown Catering if you want something tasty! They were both so sweet and I loved hanging out with them and meeting their parents, too! Congratulations to Becky & Patrick!!
Melody and Will are married!! I had SUCH a blast photographing this wonderful couple's special day. Doesn't Melody have the most infectious smile? She and her new husband were both very sweet and kind throughout the whole day. I loved everything about their wedding! Melody's dress is stunning, and check out those bridesmaid dresses! They are wrap dresses that can be worn different ways. One of my favorite things about the reception was seeing Will and his little sister together. They are too cute, and she was having a blast. Melody & Will, I wish you a lifetime of happiness! Thanks for letting me be a part of your wedding!
I just got back from Melody and Will's wedding and it was glorious! I am so excited that I'm finally able to share these photos with everyone! Isn't Melody the most beautiful bride? I'm so glad that we caught the sun at the perfect time! Melody's parents both came with her for the photos, and they are both SO sweet! I'm so glad that I was able to meet them. I can't wait to edit Melody & Will's wedding photos from today, but in the meantime, enjoy her bridal portraits!
Anna & Patrick are married! It's been such an honor working with this sweet couple. I knew Anna and Patrick from my university days here in Greenville, SC. Patrick was in my freshman choir, though I didn't know him then, and Anna was actually in the same major as me and we sat beside each other in a class! I have loved working with them these last few months! Their wedding was nothing short of perfect. It was a joy-filled day! So many guests showed up to support Anna and Patrick, which is a fabulous testimony of their commitment to each other and to the Lord. Check out Patrick's face in 99% of these... he couldn't wipe that grin off of his face! I am so happy to share these with everyone. Congratulations, Anna & Patrick!
I'm very excited to share these senior photos with you! Sara and I had a great time in Downtown Greenville taking her senior photos just three days after her brother's wedding, which I also had the honor of photographing. Sara came extra prepared with different outfits and her violin, which gave us tons of different images and styles! We shot until the absolute last minutes of daylight. Thanks for walking around downtown with me, Sara! Best wishes in your future pursuits!
Anna and Jared are getting married at the beautiful Gassaway Mansion in Greenville, SC. For their engagement photos, we looked for a place that would compliment their venue but would be slightly more casual. I think we found the perfect location at Anderson University. We explored some of the buildings around campus and found a great indoor breezeway area with beautiful light. After that, we set up in front of some of the gorgeous buildings on the main Anderson campus mall. I had a great time with these two and can't wait until their wedding in September!
