I’ve known Melissa since I was 6 years old. We’ve been through many birthday parties, sleepovers, game nights, and camping trips. As adults, we get together every so often with our friends over coffee and lunch. In high school and through adulthood, it’s always been Jacob. It was only ever Jacob. As the officiant of their wedding said, watching Melissa and Jacob together is like watching an old married couple. They are the cutest! This was absolutely one of my favorite weddings that I’ve ever been a part of because they are such a dear couple. Their bridal party photos were also just so fun because they were definitely one of the happiest couples I’ve ever photographed too! Their joy was genuine and their laughter was sweet.
There were so many amazing moments at this wedding for me. First off all, that first look!! Melissa literally laughed out loud when Jacob saw her and was overwhelmed with happiness. And Jacob cried! It was the sweetest. The ceremony was Christ-focused and worship-filled. My favorite part of the day happened during the reception. As a surprise for Melissa, her three brothers and her brother-in-law sang an old Irish folk song for her. One of her little nieces joined them as well. There was not a dry eye in the entire room! After the wedding, Melissa and Jacob went to Sno Hut because their opening day happened to be the same day as their wedding. We had a blast!
It was such a joy being there and celebrating with them on their long-awaited wedding day. I love you Jacob and Melissa! Congratulations and God bless!
