There were so many special moments at this wedding. Since Alexandra and Chase decided on an evening wedding, we were able to capture the most beautiful sunset portraits! On a typical wedding day, my portrait time with the couple is in the morning or during the afternoon, so it is such a treat when we get to have our whole portrait session during golden hour! We were blessed with such beautiful weather and a gorgeous sunset. One of my favorite moments was the dance between Alexandra and her dad. Alexandra’s mother’s family is from Mexico, and they are all such superb dancers! What started out as a typical sweet dance between father and daughter turned into a high-energy choreographed dance! The guests loved it!

Sam & Susie were married on July 15! I met Susie at her sister’s wedding that I photographed last year (you can find Becky & Patrick’s post here). I absolutely loved getting to work with her family again and have to admit that I’m pretty sad there aren’t anymore Heiser sisters for me to photograph!

Their personalities came through in little fun touches throughout the day! Their guestbook was a bench with their initial on it, instead of champagne they opted for cream soda in honor of their first date, and they had a confetti exit (don’t worry, it was biodegradable)! The sweetest touch of all was that the buttons on the back of Susie’s dress were handmade by her great grandmother for her grandmother’s wedding! I am so excited for them to see this blog post, and to share it with all of you! Congratulations Sam & Susie!

I had the awesome opportunity to photograph this fabulous reception in Downtown Greenville for my former cello teacher, Laura, and her new hubs, JT. Laura is half of the cello and guitar duo, WireWood. If you’ve been to a lot of weddings in Greenville, I’m sure you’ve heard them! This time it was Laura’s turn to celebrate, and celebrate she did! The food was incredible, the florals were superb, the music was stellar, and the party was epic!

Since Laura plays for so many weddings, I’m sure she knows that nothing is more awkward than a dance floor with only 5-10 people dancing while everyone else sits around! She made sure that didn’t happen! She dragged all of her friends and family onto the dance floor, sometimes against their will, all with a huge smile on her face. It made for some of the most fun dancing I’ve ever seen at a reception! I loved how she made sure all of her friends felt welcome and involved!

Kaleigh & Ryan’s Wedding on Saturday was absolutely stunning! Greene Acres is a magical event space in Honea Path, SC. It’s becoming one of my favorites! I loved how Kaleigh & Ryan’s families all seemed to be having such a BLAST celebrating their big day. They even went out of their way to make a space just for the all the kids that would be at the reception. Candy, Goldfish, and coloring sheets!

I loved interacting with Kaleigh and her bridesmaids. They were so fun! Check out the girls flowers: STUNNING. And Kaleigh’s dress? It was custom made for her in Bulgaria. She found it on Pinterest and said, “I want that one!” Talk about every girl’s dream!

When Emily texted me the day before the wedding and let me know that Matt’s brother, Josh, unexpectedly passed away at 25-years-old, I was crushed for them. They are the sweetest couple you will ever meet, and they were so excited for their wedding day. It doesn’t seem fair to have such a tragedy happen to them. Sometimes God sends trials that don’t make any sense at all. They were left with a decision to make. Should they continue with the wedding as planned? Emily said it herself, “How do you walk forward with this?” To make such a huge choice in the midst of an awful tragedy must have been daunting.

Brian & Jocie are the absolute sweetest people I’ve ever met! I had such a fabulous time photographing their wedding. Nestled in the rolling hills of Bath, NY, Jocie was married at her home church with her precious father serving as the officiant. Brian’s father is also a pastor, so he was able to have a part in the ceremony as well. The whole day was a beautiful picture of love and happiness! One of my favorite touches about the wedding were the girl’s bouquets! They were paper flowers, made to mimic the paper flowers Brian gave to Jocie when he asked her to be his girlfriend. Now here they are experiencing their happily ever after! I was so honored to be a part of the wonderful day!

I just love these two. They were so laid back the entire day, and their style is oh so romantic. Olivia could not keep a smile off of her face all day!! She and Luke are some of the most genuine people you will ever meet; they truly made their guests feel welcome. Olivia is from Australia, and Luke is from the States, and they met in college on a mission team to Antigua. How cool is that?! God’s providence is amazing. Olivia’s family came all the way from Australia to Greer, SC to celebrate with them!

Ryan and Lyndsey chose to tie the knot on the brand new rooftop garden at The Upper Room in Greenville, SC. Since I got to hang out with them during their engagement session, I was super pumped when their wedding day came along. Lyndsey is a teacher, and she is one of the sweetest people you will ever meet! She is warm and inviting, so bubbly, and her smile lights up the room! She had to be one of the most relaxed brides I’ve ever seen, and she was so beautiful!

I’ve known Melissa since I was 6 years old. We’ve been through many birthday parties, sleepovers, game nights, and camping trips. As adults, we get together every so often with our friends over coffee and lunch. In high school and through adulthood, it’s always been Jacob. It was only ever Jacob. As the officiant of their wedding said, watching Melissa and Jacob together is like watching an old married couple. They are the cutest! This was absolutely one of my favorite weddings that I’ve ever been a part of because they are such a dear couple. Their bridal party photos were also just so fun because they were definitely one of the happiest couples I’ve ever photographed too! Their joy was genuine and their laughter was sweet.

Kara & Travis had a small wedding earlier this year and spent their honeymoon in Hawaii. They decided to throw a big party this weekend to celebrate! It was so much fun! Kara put on her wedding dress again, she and Travis had their closest friends in their party, and they celebrated like it was their wedding day all over again! I loved hanging out with the girls in the morning. They were so chill and had a lot of fun just being together! Since there wasn’t the added nerves of a wedding ceremony, everyone was super relaxed and had an absolute blast! I loved seeing Kara and Travis together. Travis is such a sweetheart and treats Kara like a princess. He absolutely adores Kara!! She was beaming all day long! I wish them the best!
